My 16 year old, 14 year old and friend's 12 year old sons all Saw Colors

So my 16 year old son found these and asked about them. I went ahead and made the purchase for them. We got them New Years day 2018 when we got back from the ranch here in Texas. My 16 year old put them on in the back yard, and bam. He backed up, was pointing out the leaves in the Live Oak tree, he couldn't believe it. He said wow, your flannel shirt is red, i didn't know that. My daughter had a Blue and Purple ENO (hammock) and he thought it was all blue....he was blown away that it was purple. He has never been able to tell purple. He was shocked to see that parts of the grass were green, and parts were brown. We went for a drive and the most impressive thing he saw was the street signs, mainly the Street Names....he was blown away they were green, and so bright. He laughed, telling me that he thought they were a dull gray, he couldn't believe they were so green and bright. He could also tell the TRAFFIC LIGHT!!!! He could tell the green, again laughing he said it always looked white. He was blown away.

My 14 year old liked them, but it wasn't anywhere near as dramatic. They have both tested, and my 14 year old was not as severe, so I believe there are definitely variations, it's not always exact. He saw the same things, but he could see some, it's more dull for him normal day, vs as bad as my 16 year old.

Our best friends have a 12 year old son, and we went over to have him try them. He is severe like my 16 year old, and it was dramatic. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Just like my 16 year old, the street signs were a big deal, the tree leaves, and he was shocked that he could see patches of brown in the winter grass, and patches of green, he thought it was all brown.

INDOORS - they didn't really do much, according to my 16 year old. He's spent a little time with them, and now he thinks it does some, but it is NOT as dramatic. If you try them indoors, you may want to go outside and see.

Also, This was not scientific, but I believe there are very different variations, and those variations give different results with the contacts.

They were amazing, he'll be wearing them when he drives during the day for sure.

I was a little leary of buying an item that I couldn't try out to see if it worked, but it turns out that I had nothing to worry about. He was able to see the difference between maroon and brown for the first time in his life. He could see the difference between the green and teal shirts and brown and tan pants my brothers were wearing. (We intentionally wore colors he normally could not see to test the contacts since there isn't much in the way of natural greenery during the midwest winter.) He kept taking them off and putting them on again to SEE the colors. He described it as knowing what a color was because his brain had been trained to recognize it for over 50 years, but now he can see the colors and his mind was trying to reconcile the two realities. He did also state that the glasses made everything sharper. He often has to drive long distances for work and said that the glasses would be helpful during these treks. He was happy with the tinting on the contacts. They're dark enough to help protect his eyes during sunny days, but not so dark that he couldn't watch the football game inside "in living color".
